In today's office environment, more and more employers are seeking to create a better working environment for their employees. In doing so, they are realising the benefits of truly 'Ergonomic' office furniture products as a driver for employee satisfaction and general well being. As a result, the marketplace has become flooded with office products that claim to be 'ergonomic'. Under close scrutiny though, many of these claims would fall far short of stringent ergonomic criteria.
In 2000, FlRA devised the Ergonomics Excellence Award, specifically for furniture products that meet and exceed the requirements of the British and European standards, particularly in the area of ergonomics.
Herman Miller’s task chair seating trilogy of Aeron, Mirra and Celle office chairs all meet the stringent requirements as laid down by FIRA and have been awarded Ergonomics Excellence.
